Whenever we refer to Microsoft certifications, we're covering an extremely wide range. At 1 side of the range, you could need some teaching on 'Word' or Excel, at the other you may be interested in gaining a number of MCPs in order to qualify in I.T. at the professional grade. It is crucial, as with all training, to be sure of where you would like to get to, and what your motivations are to get there, because these will hugely affect what path you take & what learning-method you use. Generally, the 'MCTS' qualifications are studied en-route to a full 'MCITP' program.

Visual Studio is the primary 'Windows' software development environment, and is exclusively owned by MS. C#.Net & 'Visual Basic.Net' are the preferred languages to master. The most commonly recognised certifications are now the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist and the Microsoft Certified Professional Developer.

One of Microsoft's over-riding strengths throughout recent decades has been their thrust towards professional level accreditation, causing several other corporations to comply & raise their game. This means that more advanced level Microsoft certification is very highly thought of throughout the entire world of I.T. & I.T. management.
